Karen Wong

Director at Large

Karen Wong is a Toronto-based serial entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience building and exiting profitable companies in the retail technology sector. As Co-Founder and CEO of TAKU Retail, she led the company through a successful acquisition by US private equity. She currently co-leads Entrustia, an AI-powered file ops platform for B2B teams, and is evaluating SMB acquisition opportunities across Toronto.

Karen brings to the Lupus Ontario Board a track record in governance, strategic planning, and fundraising, including over $600,000 in non-dilutive financing secured across two ventures. She has mentored over 100 entrepreneurs through YSpace, ELLA Women YU, BHive, and as a recurring mentor on all four seasons of Mind Your Own Business, the AMI-tv broadcast series for entrepreneurs with disabilities.

Her connection to Lupus Ontario’s mission is both personal and purposeful. Two family friends live with lupus, and their experience navigating the illness brought home for Karen how disproportionately lupus affects women, often striking during the years when they are building careers and families. That reality, and the gap between how serious the disease is versus the public awareness surrounding it, is what drew her to this board.

Karen holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business and a BA from McGill University.
