CA061‑1011 (Breakfree‑SLE) is a clinical research study evaluating a cell therapy* in individuals with active lupus, including lupus nephritis, whose disease has not responded adequately to current standard treatments. The study is open to individuals aged 16 years and older who have previously been treated with immunosuppressants and corticosteroids and continue to experience lupus‑related symptoms.
*A therapy that uses an individual’s own cells to treat the disease.
SickKids (ages 16-17) and Toronto Western Hospital (ages 18+) are part of the recruitment for this study.
