Session #2: Cutaneous Lupus: More Than Skin Deep – Lupus Ontario Symposium 2025

About this session: The skin is often the first place lupus appears — but its impact runs deeper. Join us for an interactive webinar on how lupus affects the skin, from common rashes to complex conditions. We’ll cover the types of cutaneous lupus, their links to systemic disease, and how specialists work together on diagnosis and treatment. You’ll also gain strategies for managing flares and practical tips for skin care. Whether you live with lupus or support someone who does, this session offers clear, actionable insights to better understand and manage this often-overlooked aspect of the disease.

We’ll cover the different types of cutaneous lupus, their connection to systemic lupus, and what drives them at the immune and genetic level. You’ll also hear how dermatologists and rheumatologists work together in diagnosis and care, plus strategies for managing flares and protecting your skin.
