Lupus Ontario will host its 2026 Education Symposium, a two-day virtual event bringing together leading experts to explore emerging research, treatments and innovations in lupus care.
Taking place Tuesday, October 20 and Wednesday, October 21, the symposium will focus on this year’s theme, Renewing Hope: Advancing Lupus Care from Discovery to Innovation.
The four-session program will examine developments across lupus diagnosis, monitoring, treatment and research, with presentations designed to provide people living with lupus, caregivers and the broader lupus community with insight into where the field is heading.
Exploring New Approaches to Lupus Care
The first evening will focus on innovations that may help improve the experience of living with and managing lupus.
The opening session, Reducing Burden: Non-Invasive Advances in Lupus Care, will explore emerging non-invasive tools, earlier detection methods and new approaches to lupus monitoring that may help reduce treatment burden.
The evening will continue with Restoring Balance: CAR-T Cell Therapy in Lupus Care, examining the potential of CAR-T cell therapy, how the approach aims to reset the immune system, current evidence in lupus and its possible future role in treatment.
Advancing Research and Treatment
The second evening will turn to clinical research and new treatment options.
Reaching Further: Access and Innovation in Lupus Clinical Trials will examine how changes in clinical trial design and participation are helping make lupus research more accessible, inclusive and representative.
The symposium will conclude with Renewing Treatment: Biologics and New Medications in Lupus Care, highlighting advances in biologics, targeted therapies and emerging medications that are expanding treatment options for people living with lupus.
